Dear Cougar Band Member,

We are very excited to welcome you to the Award-Winning Cougar Band program at Juan Seguin High School! We pride ourselves on a tradition of excellence and are eager to welcome you to the Cougar Band Family! As we prepare for this next stage, there are several things that we have in place to help the transition into high school go smoothly for you!

 

Band Registration

We will have a Band Registration Day in the Seguin HS Band Hall. This is a time to take care of the paperwork, fees, and shirt sizes associated with high school marching band.  This is also a great opportunity for parents to meet the high school band directors and learn more about the Cougar Band! Information about this will be given out to your student during class.

4th of July Parade Camp

The city of Arlington hosts the largest 4th of July parade in the state and all of the HS marching bands participate! To prepare you for our annual first performance of the year, please reference the band calendar for the schedule. We will finish the rehearsal on the 3rd with a band cookout before we perform at the parade on July 4th!

Summer Band Camp

Finally, we will begin preparing for next year’s marching season on July 29th! This is the beginning of our two week summer band camp. Camp hours will run weekdays from 7:30 am until 4:00 pm from July 29 – August 10th. This is the time where we will be playing all of our new music for next year, as well as strengthen our marching abilities. We are thrilled to start learning next year’s marching show, “Lost”
